Message There is a nice big disclaimer on the top of the classifieds page including, "TwinTurbo.NET takes precautions necessary to ensure that Sellers are legitimate by requiring a phone number, email, name, city, state, and zip which is automatically appended to any posts. However, TwinTurbo.NET is not responsible for any false information that is presented by unscrupulous individuals. Please only buy from people for which you can verify a working phone number and E-mail account & feel comfortable doing business with. For larger purchases, an escrow company might make things more comfortable, [ www.escrowguardian.com ] or [ www.safebuyer.com ] for example. Remember, Buyer Beware."

General rules of thumb when considering a transaction:

1. Do a simple search on the screen name, more than likely if there is something to be concerned about then it will come up.
2. Check their post history, if there is very little I would most likely not buy from them.
3. Does the offer/deal seem to be too good to be true? If so, it probably is.
4. Ask for pictures of the item(s), if they don't have any then that's another sure tell sign.

I am sure there are others but those are just some suggestions.

Asking the site to police this when you could just easily do it yourself with some simple research is like asking for laws against rain because you don't know how to open an umbrella.

Is this fool-proof 100% of the time? No, of course not but it will weed out the majority of the garbage. I have lived by this on this site for six years now and have not had one single problem.
